iFS Firmware Updater Software
The current version of our Software Updater is now available on the website for downloading.
The Updater can be used to bring your iFS modules abreast of the latest developments by flashing the EEPROM. A list of current versions can be found on our website.
If you wish to be able to exploit all available iFS functions, we recommend that you always use the current firmware. The latest new software versions offer optimised features (e.g. low-voltage warning, re-synchronisation of transmitter and receiver modules, Fail-Safe settings now available for all twelve channels and prepared for sixteen channels, twelve-servo operation now possible with two appropriately programmed receivers in model, release of telemetry display for suitable transmitters, etc.)
The method of operating your modules remains unchanged, and the new firmware versions are backward-compatible with all iFS3.x versions.
The Updater operates in conjunction with the Graupner XZ-P1 iFS programmer, Order No. 23300, or the XZ-T1 iFS telemetry station, Order No. 23301. The new firmware is transferred to the transmitter and receiver modules wirelessly using the iFS system.
The Updater can only be used if you have already updated your iFS modules to IFS version 3.0 or higher.
It is not possible to update version 2.x to 3.x, as this requires a firmware change at the transmitter RF module and receiver modules which can only be installed by the Graupner Service Centre.
We have tested the software with numerous PC combinations, but there is always a possibility - however remote - that the firmware update might be interrupted in the middle of the procedure, and this could render the connected iFS device unusable. For this reason we recommend that you give the receiver or transmitter battery a full charge before starting the update, and never disconnect the USB lead during the update process.
The appearance of the “Successful” message at the end up the update procedure indicates that your system has been correctly updated.
If a problem occurs during the update process, or if you wish to use the latest software but do not have the facilities to update the products yourself, please send the components concerned to our Service Department for a free update; kindly ensure that adequate postage is pre-paid.
